The Leadership Embodiment model was created by Wendy Palmer. Leadership Embodiment is a process derived from the Japanese Martial art of Aikido and the tradition of Mindfulness. She began teaching the original iteration of the model in 1980. Since then, the model has evolved into a structured process of exercises and practices that can be used to support personal growth, leadership development and coaches can be trained to share the model.
The intention in creating Leadership Embodiment was to make the principles available to people who were not going to engage in the formal martial art or attend multi-day meditation retreats.
Wendy held a seventh-degree black belt in Aikido, a Japanese martial art which she starting teaching in 1973. She was the co-founder of Aikido of Tamalpais Dojo in Corte Madera, California. She has written four books, The Intuitive Body, The Practice of Freedom and Leadership Embodiment, How the Way We Sit and Stand Can Change the Way We Think and Speak, and Dragons and Power.
Tiphani Palmer officially joined the LE organization in 2009 and as you may have guessed is Wendy’s daughter. Tiphani’s positive experience integrating the LE practices into her own life has inspired her to share the gift of the model with others. Wendy and Tiphani were close partners in the LE work with the goal of making the model available to as many people as possible around the globe.
If you have engaged with the LE organization, then you have met our wonderful office manager, Lynda Ray. We have been blessed to have Lynda with the LE team for over 10 years. Besides being the hero of all things office related, she is also a gifted artist, astrologer and lovely human being.
The LE coaching Associates are an amazing resource for anyone looking to experience the work of LE. They are professionally trained to share the practices and exercises of the LE model and are based in many countries around the world.
